As a key member of our legal team, this Paralegal will manage family law cases from start to finish, supporting firm Partner Jillian Duggan-Herd through detailed document preparation, case tracking, discovery work, and trial readiness. You'll work to support firm Partner Jillian Duggan-Herd to ensure deadlines are met, procedures are followed, and the highest quality work product is delivered. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development while working to support a firm partner and one of Southern California's most decorated family law attorneys.Track case progress from “start to finish” ensuring all deadlines are met and all procedures are properly followedPrepare legal correspondence, pleadings, briefs, discovery requests/responses, financial disclosures, and client declarationsAnalyze, review and organize discovery materialsPrepare for trial by performing tasks such as organizing exhibits, preparing filings, and creating bindersCommunicate with clients proactively regarding their caseInvestigate facts by performing public records and social media searchesMaintain the attorney's calendar to schedule meetings, calendar hearings, discovery, etc.Maintain current knowledge of all rules of court and local rulesDirect and coordinate law office activity, including delivery of subpoenas or service of documentsDelegate administrative tasks to legal assistants while ensuring all work is completed. Perform all Legal Secretary duties but may delegate tasks as available.Assisting attorneys with projects as needed and other duties as assignedParalegal Certificate required, bachelor's degree a plusMinimum 5 years' experience in family law in San Diego County requiredExceptional verbal and written communication skillsExperience supporting a firm partner or CFLS preferredExcellent organizational, prioritization, and time management abilitiesHigh attention to detail with the ability to follow complex instructions accuratelyResourceful, proactive, and experienced with managing multiple deadlinesCritical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problemsProficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office softwareThe anticipated salary range for this role is: $40/hr - $50/hr, but ultimately will depend on experience.This role can be fully remote, hybrid, or in-person at our Mission Valley office if preferred, Monday - Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm.If you do not have experience in San Diego County, your application will not be considered.#J-18808-Ljbffr
