Job Description
Paralegal - Washington, DC
Duration: 12+ months, Onsite
Responsibilities :
- Work under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor
- Compile, prepare, and summarize materials for use by attorneys
- Summarize depositions and transcripts
- Maintain case files and perform simple legal research
- Index, track, and control document discovery
- Assist attorneys in courtroom
- Review documents for relevance and privilege
- Compile documents for FOIA, production requests, etc.
Required Skills:
- At least one year of litigation paralegal or project experience
- Automated litigation support experience valued
- Basic legal knowledge and experience with legal research tools like LEXIS and Westlaw
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with computer applications (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging)
- Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure
Education:
- Paralegal certificate, JD, or completion of at least one year at an ABA-accredited law school
- One year of legal training or experience, or two years of college education may substitute for paralegal certificate
