PARAMEDIC salary is $53,498.35 annually, which includes F.L.S.A. Additional monetary incentives may apply. Typically shift work: 24 hours on/48 hours off. Performs Advanced Life Support at emergency scenes. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.

REQUIREMENTS: Must possess on the date of written testing a valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) card from an approved provider PLUS a valid State of Florida Paramedic Certification and both must be maintained during the term of employment. Must possess a valid State of Florida Driver''s license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Copies of all required certifications and licenses must be presented at the time of written test administration. Applicants will be required to take and pass both a written and a practical skills test. Applicants will be required to perform and successfully complete the Medical Physical Abilities Test (MPAT). Veterans of the United States Armed Forces, with an honorable discharge, entitled to Veteran's Preference under Florida Statute, Chapter 295, must submit their applicable DD-214, valid military certification, and/ or military discharge papers to Human Resources by the date of written testing. Veteran's Preference points will be added to a passing written test score. Applicants must be able to successfully complete a criminal, driver''s license, and personal background investigation conducted by Brevard County or another agency. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff''s Office. Information regarding the written test date, time, and location will be emailed to qualified applicants two (2) weeks prior to testing dates, which are currently scheduled for Friday, July 17, 2026, and Saturday, July 18, 2026. The tentative hiring date for candidates who successfully complete all required pre-employment testing for this hiring process is Monday, September 14, 2026.
