This position works 12-hour rotating shifts and will be required to attend all continuing education classes required by Onslow County-Camp Lejeune EMS System. This position will be required to attend an in-person, one-week Academy that is held Monday-Friday, 0800-1700 and complete a Field Training Program after completion of the Academy. Qualified candidates will be asked to participate in a skills assessment and an interview for this position. Position Responsibilities Responds to emergency calls and provides emergency medical care in accordance with established guidelines and written verbal instructions from physicians.Determines extent of illness or injury and establishes priorities for required care.Transmits vital patient information and telemetry data to receiving medical care facility.Observes patient in route and administers additional care as needed.Inspects advanced life support and telemetry equipment daily and ensures proper maintenance and operating conditions and inventories supplies.Performs assigned functions as a Disaster Ready Team (DRT) member, if appointed or volunteer.Performs related tasks as required.
