Job Summary
Greenville Fire/Rescue is seeking experienced professionals to serve as Part-time Paramedics for our department. This position will provide supervision of basic and advanced life support procedures relevant to pre-hospital emergency care on EMS units.
Join the professionals committed to serving the diverse needs of our community through high-quality responses to a full range of emergency services, outreach, and prevention programs. We have 7 stations city-wide and hold the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.
Work schedule assignment options may include 10 hour weekdays, 12 hour days or nights, and 24 hour shifts. Start times of 8:00am or 8:00 pm. Weekend or evening hours for special events may be included.
Part-time paramedics are required to work a minimum of two shifts per calendar month in order to remain in the staffing pool.
Part-time staff may work no more than 999 hours in any 12-month period. Third-party contracted events (e.g. football games) do not count toward the 999-hour limit.

Are you currently approved by the Pitt County Medical Director to function as a Paramedic or able to obtain within one month of employment date?

This position requires the lifting and/or carrying of heavy objects. Are you able to lift and/or carry 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally along with the other duties required for this position?
