Paramedic (Per-diem/Townsend)
WAGE: $22.78 to $28.48 per hour plus $2.25 per diem rate
Together with an EMT-Basic/Advanced or Paramedic, they are responsible for transporting patients within our service region via ground ambulance from the scene to a variety of health care facilities. Perform interfacility transfers to and from a variety of health care facilities. Responsible for assisting with patient care tasks in accordance with scope of practice and under the direction or supervision of the medical director. Provides direct and indirect patient care. Communicates with physicians/Registered Nurse/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Essential Job Functions
* Performs patient care in the Emergency Department and ground medical transports within the defined scope of practice for specific education/certification level and as directed or supervised by the charge nurse and/or physician. Complies with applicable State of Montana rules and regulations, Emergency Department and Billings Clinic policies and procedures.
* Ensures adequate supply stocking. Informs appropriate personnel of equipment needing repair and initiates work requisitions.
* Actively participates in covering the staffing needs of the department.
Utilizes performance improvement principles to assess and improve quality.
* Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
* Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.
* Supports and models behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic's mission, vision, values, code of business conduct and service expectations. Minimum Qualifications
Education
* Two (2) Year / Associate Degree - AAS In Paramedic Medicine
Experience
* Three (3) years of prior experience in an applicable field within the last 5 years
Certifications and Licenses
* BLS, ACLS, & PALS Certification required - At hire
* PHTLS or TPATC - Within 1 year of hire
* NRP, STABLE - Preferred
* Montana license/certification as a Paramedic - At hire
