Apex Ambulance Service is a rapidly growing emergency transportation provider focused on, clinical excellence, and strong hospital partnerships. We are building a best-in-class EMS organization and are seeking a high-level clinical leader to help shape our future. This is not a standard field position. We are seeking a Clinical Director / Lead Paramedic who will take ownership of clinical operations, training infrastructure, and quality performance across the organization. You will play a key role in:
Building and leading a high-performance FTO program
Standardizing clinical excellence across all crews
Acting as the bridge between field operations and hospital partners
Driving quality, compliance, and growth initiatives
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all clinical operations and patient care standards
Design and lead a structured Field Training Officer (FTO) program
Implement and maintain evidence-based clinical protocols
Lead QA/QI programs and ensure continuous improvement
Review ePCR reports and provide actionable feedback
Train, mentor, and develop EMTs, Paramedics, and FTOs
Ensure full compliance with Virginia EMS regulations and inspections
Support executive leadership in scaling operations and service quality
Participate in strategic hiring and workforce development
Required Qualifications
Active Paramedic Certification (Virginia or eligible for reciprocity)
3+ years of paramedic experience, with leadership responsibility
Proven experience in FTO, QA/QI, or clinical supervision
Strong knowledge of EMS systems, compliance, and documentation standards
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Experience working with hospital systems or IFT operations
Preferred (High-Value) Qualifications
Previous Clinical Director, EMS Supervisor, or Operations Leadership role
