Provides instruction and student support services that promote academic success, independence, and college, career, and life readiness within the high school learning environment.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the High School Dean, the High School Paraprofessional delivers instructional and student support services that promote student learning, positive classroom experiences, and student success within Sussex Academy's high school program.
The High School Paraprofessional delivers individualized and small-group support by working collaboratively with classroom teachers and school staff to reinforce instruction, strengthen student engagement, promote positive behavior, and foster student independence, self-advocacy, and personal responsibility. The High School Paraprofessional serves as a flexible member of the instructional team by providing support in classrooms and schoolwide settings, adapting to the evolving needs of students, teachers, and the organization, and fulfilling other assigned responsibilities.

The High School Paraprofessional is expected to work in classroom and school environments; supervise students indoors and outdoors throughout the school day; assist students with instructional activities and classroom routines; communicate frequently with students, families, and employees; utilize instructional technology and standard office equipment; occasionally lift or move instructional materials weighing up to 25 pounds; and participate in school events, meetings, and professional learning activities as required.
