Job Summary
The Lifeskills/Gateway/Intensive Needs paraprofessional, under the supervision of the site administrator, assists students with moderate to severe disabilities within the classroom as well as supervises students in the community and at job sites and provides a wide variety of academic, emotional and behavioral support services designed to assist students in the transition to the world of work and gainful employment. The paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher by providing instructional support to students identified with moderate to severe disabilities, which include duties specific to working with severely multiply handicapped or medically fragile students, and related work as necessary to meet the specific needs of the students.

LUHSD is currently recruiting for Gateway (adult transition program) Life Skills/Intensive Needs Paraprofessionals to begin working next school year. Positions available beginning on July 24, 2026 for the 2026-2027 school year. Follow up information will be emailed to you so please be sure to check your email account on file with Edjoin.
Must be Highly Qualified (Must have at least AA/AS) or pass District Proficiency Test upon being hired. We do not accept test results from other school districts. Applications accepted prior to test scheduling.
