    Summary:

    Paraprofessional mentors are current, experienced paraprofessionals who serve as a mentor to newly hired paraprofessionals The Paraprofessional Mentor will play a crucial role in supporting the professional growth and successful integration of new paraprofessionals into our school community and district culture. This position offers an opportunity to share expertise, foster a collaborative environment, and contribute to the overall excellence of our paraprofessional staff.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Mentor and provide support: Offer ongoing one-on-one guidance and support to assigned new paraprofessionals, addressing questions related to student supports, district policies, and school-specific procedures.
    • Observe and provide feedback: Conduct informal classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to new paraprofessionals, helping them refine their student support strategies and classroom effectiveness.
    • Promote district culture: Assist new paraprofessionals in understanding and embracing the district''s mission, values, and educational philosophy.
    • Foster collaboration: Encourage new paraprofessionals to build professional relationships with colleagues and actively participate in school and district initiatives.
    • Advise Professional Development Planning: Paraprofessional Mentors will be required to serve as members of the district Paraprofessional Professional Development committee led by the Director of Student Services.
    • Maintain confidentiality: Uphold confidentiality regarding all discussions and observations related to new paraprofessionals'' performance and professional growth.
    • Serve as a resource: Act as a primary point of contact and resource for new paraprofessionals as they navigate their first year in the district

    SALARY:

    $500 annual stipend plus $25 per new staff member
