    Position: Paraprofessional Class #130 - 1:1 (Seasonal-Athletics)

    Schedule: Monday 6-7pm and Tuesday 6-7:30pm

    The primary function of this position is to provide one-on-one support, including locker room supervision, to a female student athlete during cheerleading practices and meets.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school graduate, or equivalent OR advanced training in a community college or degree-granting institution whose special education instructional aide training program has been approved by the department
    • Experience working with students with emotional impairments, autism spectrum disorder, cognitive impairments, and/or physical disabilities, or equivalent experience
    • Ability to attend away meets/competitions
    • Willingness and ability to conduct necessary physical management and physical care procedures with the student
    • Trained in, or willingness to be trained in, CPR, Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques, and other necessary medical procedures
    • Good health, stamina for assigned duties, and positive attitude toward students
    • Willingness and ability to work with students with aggressive and/or anti-social behaviors, e.g., threatening, hitting, kicking, biting, spitting, etc.
    • Must be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance at required events
    • Ability to withstand the strain of the position
    • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the administration may find appropriate and acceptable
