Salary schedule can be found on the district website: https://www.irsd.net/salary-scales Qualifications:In order to meet the paraprofessional job qualifications, you must meet one of the following criteria:Associate Degree or higherCompletion of 60 credit hours with a âC' or betterPassing test score on the ParaPro or Para Pathways Assessment & official high school transcript or GED equivalencyStrong written and verbal communication skillsPrevious experience working with children in varied settings; preferredWorking knowledge of behavior management procedures; preferredKnowledge of accommodations for special education students; preferredClean Criminal Background, Child Protective Registry Check, and TB test results required prior to employment Responsibilities:Utilize knowledge of the social, emotional, medical, and academic needs of individual students obtained through collaboration with teacher and/or specialistCollaborate with the teacher, paraprofessionals and/or related services providers about the plans and implementation of activities and resources for the studentsUnderstand and implement the student's IEP (Individual Education Program) goals and objectives, as well as any accommodations to ensure the student's successProvide support to students as neededWork with students in variety of ways, which may include an individual, small group, or whole group settingsAssist in ongoing monitoring of student progress which may include assessments, data collection and computer workSupport in maintaining student discipline using behavior management plan as directed by classroom teacherPerform other duties as requested by administration to meet the needs of the students The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature of the position and are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of job functions.
