What You'll Do as a Paratransit Driver:

Passenger Transportation

• Safely transport passengers to scheduled destinations including medical appointments, workplaces, schools, community programs, and other essential locations.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining on-time performance.
• Provide dependable transportation services that passengers can count on.
• Ensure every trip is completed safely, comfortably, and professionally.
• Operate company vehicles in accordance with all traffic laws and company policies.

Passenger Assistance & Care

• Assist passengers with boarding and exiting vehicles as needed.
• Safely secure wheelchairs, mobility devices, and other accessibility equipment.
• Provide respectful and courteous support to passengers with diverse mobility needs.
• Maintain a welcoming, patient, and professional attitude during every interaction.
• Communicate effectively with passengers, caregivers, dispatchers, and team members.
• Promote dignity, comfort, and independence for every rider.

Safety & Vehicle Responsibility

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Monitor vehicle condition and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Ensure vehicles remain clean, safe, and ready for daily service.
• Follow all safety guidelines, transportation regulations, and operational procedures.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and unexpected situations.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, reports, and required documentation.

Customer Service Excellence

• Deliver exceptional service during every passenger interaction.
• Build trust through professionalism, reliability, and consistency.
• Address passenger concerns respectfully and professionally.

Qualifications of a Paratransit Driver:

Required

• Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to pass required background checks and screening requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safety and outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily responsibilities effectively.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

Preferred

• Experience in transportation, paratransit, healthcare support, caregiving, customer service, or a related field.
• Experience assisting individuals with mobility or accessibility needs.
• Knowledge of safe passenger assistance techniques.
• Previous driving experience in a professional setting.

No prior paratransit experience is required. Paid training is provided for qualified candidates.
