What You'll be Doing:

  • Recruit and enroll eligible pregnant individuals and families with children from birth through kindergarten entry, prioritizing those experiencing identified stressors.
  • Conduct and document home visits that promote parent-child interaction, child development, positive parenting, and family well-being.
  • Facilitate parent-child groups and family workshops to strengthen relationships, encourage peer support, and promote learning.
  • Partner with families to complete assessments, establish goals, monitor progress, and update family plans annually.
  • Complete required child development screenings, assessments, health reviews, and observations in accordance with program timelines and guidelines.
  • Educate families on child development, responsive caregiving, early learning, and school readiness, while providing referrals and transition support for early childhood programs, preschool, and kindergarten.

Job Details:

  • Working days: 5 days per week / 210 days per year
  • Hours per day: 8

What You'll Need:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, college or vocational school degree with study in job-related area, AA degree preferred.
  • Experience: Job related experience is required. At least two years of supervised experience working with young children, families, or both, or similar related experience.
  • Minimum qualifications: Experience working independently, semi-independently and in a collaborative teams. Written and verbal communication skills in English and primary language of target population (Spanish) required. Knowledge of basic computer software programs (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work with a diversity of individuals and/or groups, work with data of varied types and/or purpose, problem solving to identify issues and create action plans. Flexible work schedule and willingness to travel locally. Bilingual preferred. Willingness to complete required Parents as Teachers training and maintain certification.

Work Environment

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a generally hazard free environment.
