Job Purpose

Performs responsible work in maintaining park grounds and some light equipment. The majority of work is performed within Cedarock Park but can be performed at other Alamance County park locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors customers and interacts with customers at Cedarock Park.
  • Ensures adherence to established rules and regulations; maintains safe clean environment and reports any damages or issues that may cause safety hazards.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with youth and young adults, provides excellent customer services, and works with minimal supervision.
  • Performs administrative duties including answering phones, responding to customers, completing forms, setting up and breaking down necessary equipment, etc.
  • Operates a cash register and keeps accurate sales records for the parks store.
  • Maintains cleanliness of facilities and light maintenance tasks, including cleaning restrooms and park office space.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required. Some college course work is preferred with a major in recreation or related field.

Experience: Prior experience working independently to accomplish a diverse variety of tasks and experience working in customer service preferred.

Computer Skills: Must have a basic to intermediate functional knowledge of computers. Experience with internet, email, Microsoft Word, preferred.

License/Credentials/Requirement: Possession of a valid NC drivers license.

Other Important Position Information: Candidate must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this position. This position is a part-time non-benefited position in which hours will vary and will average no greater than 19 hours per week. Hours can be scheduled based on a rotation basis and season needs.

  • September and October / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • November - March / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
  • April / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m.
  • May - August / Monday - Sunday 2 p.m. - 9 p.m.
