The Position
Under supervision of the Park Superintendent, the Park Facilities Technician performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled duties related to the maintenance and repair of equipment and infrastructure in the City of Lake Oswego's Parks. Responsibilities, as assigned, may include maintaining, installing, repairing and trouble shooting mechanical equipment and facilities; as well as development of reports and updating procedures.
HOURS: This is an "on-call" year-round position, scheduled up to 20 hours per week. There are no employee benefits, except Oregon Sick Leave, associated with the position.
Starting hourly rate: $21 - $25

Education, Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is with a High School Diploma or GED and, as assigned, or an equivalent combination of training and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Licensing and Other Requirements:
Positions in this classification are required to possess a valid driver's license and ability to meet the City's driving standards.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Frequent repetitive motions including, but are not limited to, hand, wrist and finger movements; daily walking, reaching, standing, talking, hearing and seeing. Heavy Physical Work: Must be able to move objects by exerting up to fifty (50) pounds of force occasionally and/or up to twenty (20) pounds of force frequently, and/or up to ten (10) pounds of force consistently.
Duties will occasionally involve working in adverse or inclement weather conditions; exposure to high noise levels; dealing with distraught or difficult individuals; attending meetings or activities outside normal working hours; occasional response to emergency conditions during off-hours; occasional operation of a motor vehicle on public roads.
