  • May work weekends, holidays, and events with required overtime.
  • Will split the workday between office work and field operations.

Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience up to $38,000. Pay Basis Bi-weekly Job Summary

The Parking Controller will assist the Assistant Director in planning, coordination and management of parking and transportation for campus events. Manage and support front-line customer service and business plan initiatives. Parking Controllers perform acombination of functions including Ticket Writer, Info Booth Attendee, Relief Guard, Auto Assistance, Customer Service, and Boot Driver.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ticket WritingPatrols parking areas on foot, bike, cart, and truck to ensure that only authorized vehicles are using the parking facilities.
  • Information Booth AttendeeArticulates directional information and location of buildings and offices to visitors. Issues official visitor permits.
  • Event Setup/Tear DownSupports the Event staff by delivering, setting up, and taking down cones, barricades, signs, and sign covers.
  • Customer Service RepresentativeServes as liaison between parking office and campus community.
  • Boot DriverInstalls and removes immobilization devices. Facilitates towing of vehicles with impound lot.
  • Other Duties As Assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Two (2) years working with the public, or in customer service positions or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in similar role.
  • Must have a valid drivers license to operate a motor vehicle in the state of Texas and possess an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in a service or business related field and one (1) year working in parking and transportation environment.
  • Previous staff management experience.
  • Two (2) years working at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of customer service techniques.
  • Knowledge of project management techniques.
  • Skill in components of Microsoft Office to include Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Skill in Microsoft Windows navigation.
  • Skill in using report writers to obtain customized output.
  • Skill in analyzing and organizing information.
  • Skill in writing, developing presentations and presentation techniques.
  • Skill in oral and written communication techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and on a team serving a common goal.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to meet identified deadlines.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations to improve operations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Ability to pass a thorough criminal background check.
