    Job Description:

    Position Summary:

    Under direct supervision of the Transportation Supervisor, provides safe, reliable, and efficient transport of Hotel and Casino guest to and from parking areas.

    This list of duties and responsibilities is illustrative only of the tasks performed by this position and is not all-inclusive.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Provides courtesy transportation throughout the parking areas for guest visiting Desert Diamond Casinos or Hotel.
    • Assists passengers as needed, including those with special mobility needs and carrying items to/from vehicle.
    • Assists in maintaining parking lot for cleanliness.
    • Accurately answers quests questions and provide them with a variety of information relating to services, products and special events.
    • Ensures vehicle is clean at all times.
    • Inspects serviceability of vehicles before driving.
    • Performs daily applicable safety checks on vehicles to include: operable brake lights, turn signals, tire pressure, first aid kit, electrical charge, etc.
    • Notifies management of all needed repairs.
    • Maintains accurate documentation related to mileage, electrical charge, consumption of gas, oil, and other service related data.
    • Prepares vehicle reports as directed by management.
    • Maintains vehicle cleanliness by washing and cleaning as needed.
    • Observes safety rules, drives defensively, and maintains an overall safe environment.
    • Participates in training programs as required.
    • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
    • Performs other duties as required.

    Job Requirements:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    High School Diploma or GED plus 1 year experience transporting passengers. Must have a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and be insurable (for driving). No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming a license and to include the following:

    • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Ability to drive safely and efficiently.
    • Ability to prepare and maintain written records and reports.
    • Proficient in the operation of gas operated vehicle and battery powered "tram" vehicles.
    • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly is required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The team member occasionally is required to sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    Work Environment

    Work is performed both indoors and outdoors where exposure to natural weather conditions will occur. Exposure to natural weather conditions and various dusts and mists may occur while performing outdoor duties. Exposure to chemicals may occur. Standing and walking may be on uneven surfaces or unstable ground. Situations where safety-toe shoes, safety goggles, gloves, protective face shields, or hardhats are needed may occur. Some work is performed in a casino setting with exposure to second-hand smoke and a high noise level. Evening, graveyard, holidays and/or weekend work may be required. Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
