**Job Description** **Transportation Services has an outstanding opportunity for a Parking Specialist to join their team.** **About this Opportunity** Under the general direction of the Parking Operations Manager and Parking Operations Assistant Manager, Parking Specialists play a principle role in creating a remarkable first and last impression for anyone coming to the university campus. Parking Specialists, in an approachable and friendly manner, issue parking permits, collect parking fees, perform parking enforcement duties, provide consistent information about parking system processes and procedures and perform other parking-related field duties. This position is 100% on-site at the Seattle campus and is not telework eligible. The working hours for this position are 12:45p-9:15p. **Key Responsibilities** Customer Service & Communication (45%) + Provide "Welcoming & Wayfinding" customer service - Interact with every customer in an ambassadorial, service-oriented, highly visible manner. Always remain professional as the face of the organization. + Maintain above-average knowledge of campus parking regulations, building locations, lots, and construction impacts - Used daily to give directions, parking options and wayfinding. + Direct traffic and install traffic control equipment - Work at intersections, street crossings, and place barricades/signage as directed. + Respond to campus emergencies - Including earthquakes, fires, weather hazards (after hours, weekends, holidays as requested). + Keep a safety first mentality **-** Report observed safety hazards, suspicious persons or activities and damages to University property. Operational Task Management (45%) + Sell parking permits and collect daily parking fees - Operate a touch-screen point-of-sale system and process electronic card transactions accurately. + Issue accurate parking warnings and citations - Use a computerized hand-held ticket writer (or manually) in accordance with campus policies, WAC, and RCW. + Patrol assigned campus areas - Inspect parking lot conditions, report signage issues, write citations, and conduct parking occupancy surveys. + Complete special event assignments year-round (including holidays) - as needed Administration (10%) + Work collaboratively as a team - Participate in huddles, use radio/phone, Teams, and email for communication, and secure shared equipment (handhelds, flashlights). + Check daily schedule and work email - Maintain awareness of daily related information before and during each shift. + Present a neat, tidy uniform appearance - Keep gatehouses, work areas, and university vehicles clean and orderly. + Perform other duties as assigned - Including court testimony (if subpoenaed), training new employees, transporting staff, and administrative office tasks. **Required Qualifications** To be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below.
