GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Parks and Buildings Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring Centralia’s parks and public buildings are safe, clean and efficiently managed for public use. This position administers programs, projects and budgets along with planning, organizing, and overseeing the work of crews engaged in the operation of parks services, maintenance, and repair of park and building facilities. These facilities include several parks, natural areas and open spaces, cemeteries, trails, buildings and historic resources.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience with park and/or facility maintenance and operations required.

• Previous supervisory experience required.

• Experience with recreational sport facilities preferred.

• Advanced degree from an accredited college or university in Public/Business Administration, Parks Management, Urban Forestry, or a closely related field is preferred.

• Any combination of related education and experience may be considered that demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid Washington State Driver's license with acceptable driving record is required.

• Must pass a thorough background investigation and successfully complete reference checks.
