Location: All Parks GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION This position is a manual labor position. Work involves performing parks facilities opening/ closing and maintenance tasks. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Responsible for monitoring the safety and cleanliness of interior and exterior Parks facilities, such as meeting rooms, restrooms, and parking lots.
- Responsible for the opening / closing of facilities and facility restrooms as assigned.
- Responsible for litter removal and janitorial duties within park grounds, parking lots, and inside park facilities.
- Performs preventive maintenance on Parks and Recreation Department equipment, buildings and structures as required.
- Operates vehicle in the performance of job duties; must maintain valid driver's license for the duration of employment.
- May assist with other projects assigned.
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Some knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building and grounds maintenance. Ability to lift heavy objects, and perform manual labor for extended periods of time in all weather conditions. Ability to perform minor maintenance on parks equipment, building and structures. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At least one (1) year of experience performing manual labor and at least one (1) year of supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which demonstrates the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work. COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Job duties require the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, vendors and the public. CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Job duties require the ability to utilize common sense understanding to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature. MENTAL DEMAND

Pickup truck; janitorial equipment; power and hand tools for minor repairs and maintenance; mobile or portable radio. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
