Parks Maintenance Crew part time
Wage Range begins at $16.57 per hour
Greenville County Parks Recreation & Tourism is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Part-Time Maintenance Technicians. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, getting their hands dirty, and passionate about creating beautiful parks they can be proud of.
Essential Duties:
• Participates in landscape and athletic field maintenance work, including but not limited to: installing landscape materials and sod watering playing fields mowing and aerating playing fields trimming trees and shrubbery applying fertilizers and herbicides installing and repairing fencing and picnic tables installing and maintaining signage removing debris and trash
• Prepares fields and facilities for athletic and other recreation events.
• Preparing and shelter rentals by cleaning up before and after.
• Janitorial services duties may also include assisting with additional parks maintenance functions as needed.
• Receives and responds to inquiries, requests for assistance, concerns, and complaints in areas of responsibility.
Qualifications:
• Must have a valid SC drivers license, which will be required to use personal vehicle for work travel between parks and will be reimbursed for mileage.
• Requires high school diploma, GED, or specialized vocational training.
• Hours may vary depending on need.
• Must know how to operate a lawnmower, weed eater, sprayer, along with other basic maintenance-related equipment and tools.
• Requires medium-to-heavy work that involves walking, standing, stooping, lifting, digging, pushing, or raising objects, and also involves exerting between 20 and 50 pounds of force on a recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds of force on an occasional basis.
• Requires work in all outdoor working conditions.
This position is considered safety sensitive and will require pre-employment and random drug testing.
