Reporting to the Parks Manager, the Parks Maintenance Supervisor is involved in the development, maintenance, and repair activities in the City parks. The position involves assigning and supervising staff involved in all aspects of routine repair, new construction and maintenance in City parks, including grounds, buildings, and structures.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent, plus considerable knowledge of building maintenance, horticulture, arboriculture, and construction and repair of various residential and commercial type structures, landscaping, and construction.

Experience: Minimum of five years on increasingly responsible experience in parks maintenance, general grounds maintenance, and/or related field experience in building construction and maintenance. Please view the job description for more details on required/desired experience expectations.

License & Certification: A valid vehicle operator's license with a satisfactory driving record in accordance with City Policy is required. May be required to obtain specialized license or certification related to specific areas of work.

Essential Functions: Examples of duties may include but are not limited to: • Manages multiple priorities in an efficient and effective manner; • Establishes and maintains professional relationship with staff, local Union representatives, and the general public; • Directs construction and maintenance projects including the acquisition of materials, equipment, management, and ensures staff complies with applicable permits and building related codes; • Other duties as assigned.
