Summary of Position
Are you looking for a part-time job that offers flexible evening and weekend hours? Do you enjoy serving people and have a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service? The Recreation Facility Monitor ensures all customers have a positive experience and successful event while renting our facilities. This position will monitor guest during events; ensure facility capacities are not exceeded and will be available to answer questions and provide support when needed. If this sounds like fun and you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have great customer service skills review the minimum qualifications and apply if qualified! Works under the general guidance and direction of the Recreation Supervisor to monitor Civic Center events, private events in parks and tournaments, all while providing courteous customer service to users. This is a variable hour, nights and weekends position that may average up to 10 hours per week or more, depending on how shifts are divided amongst staff.

EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position will be located at the City Center. Grounds maintenance work including but not limited to shoveling and trash pickup is performed outside in seasonal temperatures and conditions. The position will use common office supplies and equipment, and the noise level can vary, depending on the Civic Center users. Exposure to computer monitors in the office is typical. This position works closely with others.

Are you eligible for veterans preference points? The City of Coon Rapids operates under a point preference system, which awards points to qualified veterans to supplement their application. Ten points are granted to non-disabled veterans on open competitive examinations; 15 points are awarded if the veteran has a service connected compensable disability as certified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (USDVA).
