The Position

Job Appointment: There are two (2) regular fulltime positions available.
Work Schedule:
Position #1: Sunday - Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm (year-round)
Position #2: Sunday - Thursday 6:00am to 2:30pm (September - April), 10:00am to 6:30pm (May - August)

Position Summary:
Parks Technicians play an important role in keeping parks and park facilities clean and safe for the community to enjoy. They do a full range of maintenance activities to care for park landscapes, irrigation systems, restrooms, outdoor furnishings, playgrounds, and a variety of other tasks related to park maintenance. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions.

The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
Ability to work effectively with coworkers in a diverse workforce, and respond appropriately to questions and concerns from other employees and the public.
Skill in safe and effective operation of landscaping and maintenance tools and equipment.
Ability to work outdoors in all seasons for extended periods and during unfavorable weather conditions.
Ability to lead diverse groups of skilled and unskilled employees and volunteers in a variety of outdoor maintenance projects.
Knowledge of irrigation repair and pesticide application.
Knowledge and experience of routine cleaning and maintenance of buildings, restrooms, and grounds.
