Work with therapists and other residential staff to maintain safety of clients in residential facility.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Promote the mission, values and vision of Hibiscus Children’s Center
Work with clients in educational, recreational and daily living settings
Assess changes in clients’ social behaviors
Maintain structure and consistency with the clients through the implementation of the behavior management plan set forth at the facility
Work with therapists and residential staff to follow through with goals and objectives of treatment plans
Implement treatment plan goals in home setting
Recognize mental health disorders and/or developmental delays and work with therapist and other residential employees to oversee safety and appropriate daily activities
Recognize deviations in clients mental or physical state and take appropriate action to ensure client and employee safety
Develop a professional relationship with the clients in order to gain their cooperation and respect
Document client behaviors and maintain required paperwork
Maintain professional and ethical code of behavior
Serve as role model; demonstrate problem solving skills and teach clients life skills
Provide structure and guidance to clients in positive ways

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Associates Degrees in related field required
DJJ or Criminal Justice experience preferred
Minimum two (2) years experience with at risk children/teens
At least 21 years of age
Ability to lift 40 lbs
CPR, First-Aid and TCI certification required within the first 90 days of employment; on the job certification and training provided
Ability to work outdoors
Ability to work shifts
Ability to work with diverse backgrounds
Must pass level 2 background clearance and drug test
Must be approved to drive agency vehicles as necessary
Ability to work flexible schedule and shifts as necessary

Verbal and writing skills
Ability to recognize and respond to crisis situations
Ability to observe, describe, record and report accurately
Ability to intervene when necessary to protect safety of clients
