This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week working with juniors and seniors enrolled in College Possible's program. Candidates must be a commutable distance from Stevens Point, WI as the role and work will be completed there. There will also be a requirement to meet in person as a team one time each month in a designated area." As an Advising Specialist – College Access, You Will:Guide and educate students in support of their academic, personal, and professional development and success.Collaborate with partner institution staff, faculty and administration on student success and persistence.Promote and help develop student engagement, academic success strategies, experiential learning, and other high impact activities to support student persistence.Advocate for students, collaborating and communicating with institution staff, faculty, and administration and College Possible team members.Primary ResponsibilitiesDirect Student Support - 65%.Teach college preparatory classes for 40 or more high school students at local high school campusEnsure that students consistently receive the highest quality of services, that school partner needs are met, and that each student makes satisfactory progress toward program goalsProvide 1-on-1 coaching to students to develop their college planGain and maintain knowledge of all students' interests, needs, and backgroundsPerform follow-up parent/student phone callsLead student recruitment at schools in your portfolio; including but not limited to tasks like leading information sessions, communicating with school staff, facilitating interviews, and welcoming students into the program.Collect, organize, and maintain student and program documentsProvide mid-year and end of year-end progress reports for all studentsCoordinate with the College Success Team to provide college transition services to graduating high school seniorsSubmit weekly timesheets, periodic reports (i.e., monthly reports, self-evaluations, and supervisor evaluations), and other service-related documentation as requiredAttend required programmatic and community service eventsData Management and Reporting - 15%Track and record student progress, using both quantitative and qualitative measuresEnter and maintain current student data in CoPilot, a Salesforce based CRMUtilize existing and/or create and run reports to identify and respond to individual students in need of additional support and to identify and respond to trends in student progressProgram Development and Support - 15%Utilize caseload management strategies including technologies, collaborations, and proceduresCollaborate with the Program Manager and/or Program Director to identify and develop Access Program initiatives and growthMeet regularly with Program Manager and full College Possible Wisconsin Program Team to help develop and/or support organizational initiativesProvide Program Director support as needed and/or assignedOrganizational Support - 5%Collaborate and/or participate in events and activities, providing logistics support as needed and connecting with guests, supporters, board members, and other potential or current partners and/or studentsRepresent and promote College Possible positively to increase and enhance organizational awareness throughout the communityProvide support and complete other duties as assigned You Will Need:EducationBachelor's degree in education, social or human sciences, business, or other related field(s) requiredExperience1-3 years teaching, mentoring, advising, and/or coaching college students, or related roles demonstrating a commitment to the power of education.Development of effective, targeted text, email, and in-person college student communications.Collaboration and partnership building which demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Problem-solving and adaptation to changing situations and environments.Finding, reading, comprehending, utilizing, and presenting information in an effective and efficient manner.Written and in-person communications with professional teams.Presentations to small and large groups, showing effective speaking, engagement, and influencing skills. Computer/Software SkillsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, as well as in Google, Google Drive and DocsExperience with CRM systems preferred.OtherAbility to lift up to 15 pounds as neededAbility to stand and/or sit for a minimum of 8 hours a dayMobility to move across campuses and/or travel to College Possible site as neededYou will Gain:The opportunity to positively impact individual students and Milwaukee communities as a part of a strong, values-based team...Compensation: $23 per hour working 20 hours per week*Please note this role is remote*. However, this role will require to be on a designated campus four times a week in Stevens Point, WI. There will also be a requirement to meet in person as a team 2-3 times a month in a designated area.
