Green Bay Area Catholic Education Inc. (GRACE) is looking for a Part-time Art Teacher about 16 hours a week during the school year at our St. Thomas More Catholic School on Green Bay''s east side for the 2026-27 school year.
The Art Teacher is responsible for providing engaging, developmentally appropriate visual arts instruction to students in grades Kindergarten through 12th grade within a Catholic school environment. The teacher fosters creativity, artistic skill development, appreciation for the arts, and integration of Catholic values throughout the curriculum. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore artistic expression while supporting the mission and philosophy of Catholic education.
Essential Responsibilities
- Regular and reliable attendance
Instruction and Curriculum
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate art lessons for students in grades K-12.
- Develop curriculum aligned with state standards, diocesan guidelines, and school objectives.
- Teach a variety of artistic media, techniques, and concepts, including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, design, and art history.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback on artistic growth and achievement.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and participation.
Classroom Management
- Create a positive, safe, and respectful classroom environment that encourages creativity and responsible behavior.
- Establish and enforce classroom procedures and expectations.
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and inventory of art supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Ensure proper safety procedures are followed when using art tools and materials.
Faith Integration
- Support and uphold the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the school.
- Integrate Catholic values and themes into art instruction when appropriate.
- Model Christian behavior and foster respect, compassion, and service among students.
School Community Involvement
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and staff to support student learning.
- Prepare and display student artwork throughout the school and at special events.
- Coordinate school art shows, exhibitions, contests, and related activities as appropriate.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required for a part-time position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor''s degree. Preferrably in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
- Valid teaching license/certification preferred.
- Experience teaching art to elementary and/or secondary students preferred.
- Practicing Catholic preferred; must support the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Strong knowledge of artistic techniques, media, and art history.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, faculty, and administration.
- Bilingual is a plus! (Spanish/English)
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the classroom for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry art supplies and materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to supervise students safely in classroom and exhibition settings.
