INTERNAL POSTING Katonah -Lewisboro School District Announces the Following Vaca ncy For the 202 6-2027 School Year Art Teacher (0.2 FTE) Location: John Jay High School Anticipated Start Date : September 1, 2026 Salary: 0.2 of $64,276 - $152,199 as per the KLDTA contract Qualifications : NYS Certification in Art (K-12). Experience with secondary art curriculum preferred but not required. Familiar with technology -driven art programs, especially Procreate and the Adobe suite, Photoshop, lightroom Premier Pro Knowledge of the design process and its application. Responsibilities: • Demonstrate knowledge of art history, art creation, art terms, materials, and techniques. • Understand Teaching for Artistic Behaviors framework, and ability to compose curriculum for this framework . • Embrace a student -centered studio environment with a "Yes And" attitude and is committed to student- driven learning experiences on a daily basis. • Ability to embrace student ideas and enable students to push forward. • Committed to student- centered learning experiences with opportunities for student voice and choice. • Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that prioritizes the social and emotional well -being of students and nurtures a sense of belonging. • Ability to maintain a working studio and studio inventory. • Has a collaborative approach to working with others. • Is willing to lead and follow, both with colleagues and with students. • Works with colleagues to analyze student needs, share best practices, and implement research -based strategies that improve student outcomes. • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. • Shows enthusiasm, flexibility and willingness to learn new skills/techniques, and has a personal art practice.
