Position Description

Manhattan University, an NCAA Division I institution, and member of the Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), is seeking a qualified candidate for a 12 month, part-time position as Assistant Coach for the Mens Soccer Program to recruit, develop and retain qualified student-athletes and assist in all aspects of conducting the program.

Job Responsibilities

  • On Field Coaching Support: Team, Recovery and Individual training
  • Strength and Conditioning program in partnership with the department and PD
  • Field and Gym Testing
  • Lead all playertek use, maintenance, ordering, analysis, reports and meetings with players
  • Manage protein, hydration, normatec/game ready and provide daily injury updates from AT staff
  • Nutritional seminars and meal management
  • Video Analysis Reports (Opposition only) and small group analysis pre-game
  • Transfer portal and communication with recruits throughout the transfer process
  • Office Schedule in the Fall will be customized around external work but expectation is as much as possible with full-time staff.
  • Attend all ID Clinics
  • Office Schedule in Spring TBC based on external commitments but agreed upon prior
  • Vacation and Absence (Organized and confirmed before each season begins)
  • Timelines and Deadlines (MAAC Video, SSA testing, Recruitment response, ARMS updated)
  • Follow NCAA compliance for recruitment and SC sessions in partnership with the staff
  • Communication daily and available
  • Daily Coaching Meetings during Fall Season
  • Dress Code and Appearance (Always represent the school with the highest standards)
  • Always protect the program and uphold the ethics and values of the Head Coach
  • Loyal and Confidential with all matters relating to the program
  • Be willing to go above and beyond the general role when asked by the HC and FT Asst.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred
  • 3 years of full-time prior experience at the Division I level
  • Assertive, outgoing, hard-working and resourceful
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships and create partnerships with a wide range of constituent groups
  • Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Required to travel and the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail and keep specific timelines
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to problem solve
  • Ability to work effectively with coaches, students, faculty, administration, alumni, and community
