Automotive Office Clerk / Customer Shuttle Driver

Position Summary
A busy, growing independent automotive repair shop in DeSoto is seeking a dependable, organized, and customer-friendly professional to support its front office and customer transportation needs.
This is a blended clerical and customer-service position—not a commissioned Service Advisor role. The ideal candidate enjoys helping people, keeps paperwork organized, communicates professionally, and is comfortable driving customers to and from the shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Scan, organize, and maintain invoices and other shop documentation.
- Assist with filing, data entry, and general office organization.
- Learn to complete basic administrative processes
- Welcome customers and provide a friendly, professional first impression.
- Drive customers home, to work, or back to the shop using a company-provided vehicle.
- Safely transport customers while following all traffic and company safety requirements.
- Answer or direct incoming telephone calls as needed.
- Provide customers with basic updates or connect them with the appropriate team member.
- Assist with occasional parts pickups, errands, or vehicle transportation.
- Keep the customer waiting area and front office organized and presentable.
- Support the management and service teams with additional clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous clerical, receptionist, administrative, retail, or customer-service experience preferred.
- Friendly, professional, and comfortable interacting with customers.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer, email, scanning, and data-entry skills.
- Able to handle customer information and business documents confidentially.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean, insurable driving record.
- Comfortable driving a full-size pickup truck.
- Dependable transportation to and from work.
- Able to pass applicable background and motor-vehicle-record requirements.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Weekend availability is required.
Automotive experience is helpful but not required. Training will be provided on the shop’s systems and administrative processes.
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Saturday and Sunday availability required
- Additional weekday shifts may be available based on business needs
- Schedule and total weekly hours will be discussed during the interview
Compensation
$17–$19 per hour, based on relevant clerical experience, customer-service ability, automotive familiarity, and schedule flexibility.
This position is paid hourly and does not include a sales commission structure.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Work is primarily performed in an automotive office and customer-service environment.
- Regular driving throughout the surrounding DeSoto and Surrounding area is required.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move between the office, parking lot, and company vehicle.
- Must be able to safely enter, exit, and operate a full-size pickup truck.
- May occasionally lift or carry office supplies, paperwork, or automotive parts weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Will periodically be exposed to the sounds, activity, and conditions of an operating automotive repair facility.
