Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to assist in banquet operation, alcohol sales, and food and beverage services. Responsible for TABC and health code compliance, and related systems and inventory controls.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides customer service by greeting each customer upon arrival and assists customers with food and beverage orders.

  • Complies with all TABC and Health Code rules and regulations.

  • Provides assistance to Club Manager as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to write simple sentences containing subject, verb, and object, and/or series of numbers, names, and addresses. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

  • Work requires the ability to perform event set up, cash control, and related food and beverage operations. High school degree or equivalent or working on such.

  • No experience necessary. Food handling preferred.

  • Valid Texas Class C Drivers License. Must have TABC License.

  • Ability to recognize meaning of common two- or three-syllable words. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

  • Ability to perform the four basic arithmetic operations. Ordinarily, such education is obtained in elementary school up to high school. However, it may be obtained from experience and self-study.

  • The employee normally performs the duty assignment after receiving detailed instructions as to methods, procedures, and desired end results with little room for deviation. Close and constant review is given.

  • No responsibility for the direction or supervision of others.

  • Normal tasks require use of definite procedures, with little deviation. Work requires little or no analysis or judgment.

For city employees who are regular part time (10-19 hours per week) or seasonal hired placed on City payroll, the following benefits are provided:

  • PARS - Public Agency Retirement System: the employee contributes 6.2% each paycheck to this retirement system and the city provides 1.3%. The employee does not pay into Social Security. All of the employees contributions may be withdrawn upon separating service from the city. The Citys contributions will not be paid unless the employee retires under the system.
  • Part time or seasonal employees are not eligible for any paid leave or other benefits.
  • Part time or seasonal employees are limited to working only 1,000 hours per 12-month period, unless the seasonal is project based for a specific period of time which is typically less than 12-months.
