Duties
- Safely bathe and dry pets, ensuring thorough cleaning and comfort during the process
- Perform precise outline trims and pet coat styling to meet owner specifications and breed standards
- Handle animals gently and confidently, utilizing proper restraint techniques to ensure safety for pets and staff
- Assist with pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other grooming maintenance tasks
- Communicate effectively with pet owners about grooming preferences, special needs, and aftercare instructions
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, adhering to sanitation protocols
- Assist with animal handling during grooming procedures, including kennel management and pet sitting as needed
Skills
- Experience in dog training, pet grooming, or veterinary settings is highly desirable
- Strong animal handling skills, including canine and feline handling techniques
- Knowledge of veterinary procedures such as veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
- Familiarity with pet coat styling, pet nail trimming, and animal restraint methods
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling larger animals or equipment
- Prior kennel experience or pet sitting background is beneficial for understanding animal behavior and care needs
