Part-Time Bookkeeper
Our client is looking for a Part-Time Bookkeeper to join their team in Rye, NY. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional looking for a consistent, flexible part-time schedule with a mission-driven organization.
Position Details:
- Part-Time | 20 hours per week
- $25/hour
- Located in Rye, NY
What You’ll Do:
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities
- Process and code accounts payable invoices
- Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections
- Record and code daily cash activity
- Prepare bank deposits
- Reconcile monthly credit card statements
- Prepare monthly program billing and departmental reports
- Maintain accurate vendor and accounting records
- Assist with monthly and annual reporting
- Support annual audit preparation
- Prepare annual 1099 forms
- Ensure transactions are properly coded and recorded in the accounting system
- Follow established accounting policies and internal controls
- Assist with improving accounting processes and efficiencies
- Provide additional accounting support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Strong understanding of AP, AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
- Experience with Excel and accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Nonprofit or multi-location accounting experience is a plus
