What youll do on a typical day The Career and Business Services Developer is a part-time professional responsible for developing, coordinating, and strengthening career-connected learning and employment opportunities for students and alumni. In collaboration with the Director of Career Development, this role serves as a strategic liaison between the college, students, alumni, and business and industry partners to support workforce development, economic mobility, and regional talent pipeline needs. This position plays a key role in aligning student career pathways with labor market demand, supporting the college's commitment to student success, and strengthening partnerships that drive economic growth in the community. The position reports to the Director of Career Development.

Essential Job Functions:

• Connects students and alumni to career-aligned employment opportunities, including part-time, full-time, and career pathway positions, with a focus on high-demand industries. • In collaboration with the Director of Career Development, builds and maintains strategic partnerships with business and industry to support hiring needs, talent pipelines, and regional workforce development. • Collaborates with Work-Based Learning to expand internships, apprenticeships, and other experiential learning opportunities that align with academic programs. • Integrates career development throughout the student lifecycle, helping students explore, plan, and transition into the workforce or transfer pathways. • Serves as a liaison between faculty and employers to ensure programs remain aligned with current labor market trends and workforce needs. • Manages and promotes the college's career platform/job board to increase student, alumni, and employer engagement. • In collaboration with the Director of Career Development, analyzes employment, placement, and engagement data to identify trends, improve services, and support institutional goals related to student success and workforce outcomes. • Assists with the First Destination Survey and other data collection efforts to track post-graduation outcomes and inform continuous improvement. • Designs and delivers career readiness programming (resume writing, interviewing, networking, workplace skills) to prepare students for employment. • Coordinates employer engagement activities, including job fairs, recruitment events, employer panels, and on-campus interviews. • Utilizes emerging technologies, including AI tools, to enhance career services, support student job search strategies, and improve employer engagement and efficiency. • Collaborates with Admissions, Advising, and Workforce/Continuing Education to align career pathways, enrollment, and employment outcomes with community and industry needs. • Performs other duties as assigned that achieve the mission and initiatives of the college.

Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings. Some evening/weekend work may be required.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Two (2) or more years of professional experience in employer engagement, recruiting, job placement, workforce development, career services, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Four (2) or more years of professional experience in employer engagement, recruiting, job placement, workforce development, career services, or a related field
  • Experience using career services or job board platforms (e.g., Handshake, Symplicity, or similar systems)
  • Experience planning, coordinating, and promoting events such as job fairs, employer panels, or recruitment activities
  • Experience managing or creating content for social media or digital marketing platforms for outreach or engagement purposes
  • Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) systems or databases to track employer, student, or placement activity
  • Experience analyzing data or generating reports related to employment outcomes, student engagement, or program effectiveness
  • Experience using AI tools or other emerging technologies (e.g., ChatGPT, résumé optimization tools, data analysis tools) to support career services, employer engagement, or job search strategies

Work Environment ADA requirements for this position include critical thinking skills with the ability to process information and exercise good judgment; ease of mobility within the work environment and other areas of campus and College locations; travel between campus locations may be required; and effective use of all forms of communication including use of computers.
