Part-Time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)**Vascular Surgery ** San Antonio, Texas | Part-Time or 1099 | AAAHC accredited Outpatient ASCPosition OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our vascular surgery team on a part-time basis in an outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).The ideal candidate will have strong regional anesthesia skills, including experience performing upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocks, and experience caring for patients undergoing vascular and dialysis-access procedures.This position is well suited for an experienced CRNA who is comfortable managing patients with complex medical histories while working collaboratively with vascular surgeons, nursing staff, and the perioperative team.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide anesthesia services for vascular and dialysis-access procedures in an outpatient ASCPerform appropriate pre-anesthesia patient assessmentsDevelop individualized anesthesia plans based on the patient's medical history, procedure, and clinical conditionPerform upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocks for appropriate surgical proceduresProvide monitored anesthesia care (MAC), regional anesthesia, and other anesthesia services within the CRNA's scope of practice and facility privilegesManage anesthesia throughout the perioperative periodContinuously monitor patients and promptly identify and manage changes in clinical conditionProvide safe emergence and transfer of care to the postoperative nursing teamParticipate in postoperative assessment and management of anesthesia-related concernsMaintain complete and timely anesthesia documentationFollow facility policies, anesthesia protocols, infection-prevention practices, and patient-safety standardsWork collaboratively with vascular surgeons and the ASC clinical team to provide efficient, high-quality patient carePatient & Procedure PopulationOur ASC specializes in the care of vascular and dialysis-access patients. Procedures may include:AV fistula creation and revisionAV graft creation and revisionDialysis-access proceduresUpper-extremity vascular proceduresPeripheral vascular proceduresOther vascular surgical and interventional procedures performed in the ASC settingOur patient population frequently includes individuals with ESRD, diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, hypertension, and other cardiovascular comorbidities. Candidates should be comfortable evaluating and providing anesthesia care to medically complex patients in the outpatient setting.Required QualificationsCurrent CRNA certificationCurrent Texas APRN/RN licensure as applicableGraduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia programCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationDemonstrated experience performing upper-extremity peripheral nerve blocksStrong airway management and anesthesia assessment skillsExperience providing MAC and regional anesthesiaAbility to recognize and appropriately respond to anesthesia-related complications and emergenciesStrong communication and documentation skillsAbility to work collaboratively with surgeons, nursing staff, and other members of the perioperative teamPreferred ExperienceVascular surgery anesthesiaDialysis-access surgeryUltrasound-guided regional anesthesiaUpper-extremity regional blocksASC or outpatient surgical anesthesiaCare of patients with ESRD and significant cardiovascular comorbiditiesScheduleThis is a part-time position in an outpatient vascular surgery setting.
