Job Description Summary

This position is part of the Carroll laboratory. The laboratory works to better understand the biology of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and to develop novel therapeutics. Primary responsibility will be assistance with development of AML patient registries. The laboratory works to understand the biology of AML in different ethnic groups. Individual will work with the tissue bank registry and further collect and annotate clinical information on patients with leukemia. Additional projects will provide annotation on clinical details and therapy outcomes to correlate with molecular studies in the laboratory or with collaborators. Will interact with clinical trial teams and will be trained in appropriate handling of confidential patient information.

Job Responsibilities



+ Schedule subjects for appointments, procedures, or inpatient stays as required by study protocols


+ Perform specific protocol procedures such as interviewing subjects, taking vital signs, and performing electrocardiograms.


+ Assess eligibility of potential subjects through methods such as screening interviews, reviews of medical records, or discussions with physicians and nurses


+ Prepare study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports. See more occupations related to this task.


+ Inform patients or caregivers about study aspects and outcomes to be expected.


+ Collect data (physiological, paper and pencil measures, dietary recalls, and computerized laboratory tasks) per study protocol. Complete data entry and quality assurance assignments. (45% Essential: 1),Conduct scripted telephone eligibility screenings (30% Essential: 1),Act as primary point of contact for study participants; schedule appointments; conduct reminder calls; oversee in-person session prep (10% Essential: 1),Collect, process, log and ship samples (e.g., urine and saliva) according to study-specific protocols and maintain the cleanliness of lab spaces (5% Essential: 1),Report the progress of study participants per established SOPs. Qualifications





+ High School Grad/GE Degree and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
