Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and versatile Part Time Commercial Handyman to join our team in East Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate should have experience in fixture-level work, general maintenance, light electrical and plumbing in commercial settings. The Commercial Handyman will be responsible for maintaining and repairing the facility to ensure the overall functionality of various fixtures, equipment, and overall facilities on-site, in addition to pressure washing upon request. This position requires a proactive mindset with a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

 

Schedule: Primarily Monday-Friday, part-time role 15-25 hours per week, flexible schedules between 8am-4pm

 

Hourly Compensation: 20.00-20.00 USD, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

The Part-Time Commercial Handyman responsibilities includes:

 

Fixture-Level Work :
1. Install, repair, and maintain various fixtures including lighting, shelving, cabinetry, signage, and hardware as needed
2. Ensure fixtures are secure, stable, and compliant with safety standards
3. Perform routine inspections to identify and address potential issues in a timely manner

General Maintenance of Facility :
1. Conduct regular maintenance tasks such as painting, and other cosmetic enhancements; replace broken door knobs, replace light-bulbs and other related tasks
2. Perform basic/light carpentry work to repair or replace damaged structures or surfaces

 

Plumbing :
1. Diagnose and repair plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and drainage problems
2. Install and maintain plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, faucets, and pipes as needed
3. Conduct routine inspections of plumbing systems to ensure proper functionality and identify potential problems

Facility Management :
1. Work with Facility Manager on-site to address all facility-related issues related to plumbing, electrical, and general carpentry work to ensure that all facilities are safe, functional, and meet health and safety regulations

2. Pressure washing upon request

3. Ensuring outdoor grounds are maintained - pick up trash around facility as needed

Problem Solving :
1. Analyze and troubleshoot issues related to fixtures, maintenance, and plumbing
2. Identify root causes of problems and implement effective solutions to prevent recurring issues

Documentation :
1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and installations
2. Communicate maintenance and repair status to Facility Manager

Safety and Compliance :
1. Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment all
2. Comply with relevant regulations and standards related to fixture installation, maintenance, and plumbing work

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements :
1. Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform tasks that may require physical exertion

2. Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments

3. Ability to walk, stand, bend, and stoop majority of shift  


Additional Qualifications Include :
1. Proven experience as a Handyman with a preferred focus on fixture-level work, general maintenance, and plumbing

2. High School Diploma or equivalent GED
3. Strong knowledge of various types of fixtures, materials, and tools commonly used in commercial properties
4. Proficiency in general maintenance tasks such as painting, and light carpentry; Plumbing skills, including the ability to diagnose and repair common plumbing issues

5. Reliable transportation to and from work 
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively 
7. Strong communication skills to interact with team members and management.
8. Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality work; Ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
9. Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to maintenance and plumbing work.
