Position Title: Part-Time Communications Coordinator Reports To: Business Manager Position Summary The Communications Coordinator supports the organization's internal and external communication efforts by creating engaging content, managing digital communications, and promoting programs, events, and initiatives. This position plays a key role in maintaining brand consistency, enhancing audience engagement, and ensuring effective communication across multiple platforms. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Communications & Content Development - Draft and edit newsletters, website content, email communications, press releases, and promotional materials.
- Create engaging content for social media platforms.
- Ensure communications align with organizational branding and messaging standards.
- Proofread materials for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Digital Communications - Manage and update social media accounts and content calendars.
- Monitor engagement and respond to inquiries as appropriate.
- Assist with website updates and content management.
- Track communication metrics and prepare basic performance reports.
Marketing & Event Promotion - Support marketing efforts for events, programs, and organizational initiatives.
- Develop flyers, graphics, and promotional materials using design software such as Canva.
- Assist with event communications before, during, and after organizational events.
- Capture and organize photos and other media for communication purposes.
Administrative Support - Maintain communication databases and email distribution lists.
- Conduct research for communication and marketing projects.
- Provide general administrative support to the communications team as needed.
Qualifications Education and Experience - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, English, or a related field preferred.
- One to three years of communications, marketing, public relations, or related experience preferred.
- Experience managing social media platforms and creating digital content.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong proofreading and editing abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media platforms.
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.
Work Schedule - Part-time position, typically 20-29 hours per week.
- Some evening or weekend hours may be required to support special events and organizational activities.
Physical Requirements - Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds.
