Part Time Custodian

JOB PURPOSE SUMMARY: To perform maintenance and operational tasks. Responsible for cleaning and the general appearance of school buildings across the district.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The duties described below are indicative of what a Maintenance Custodian may be asked to perform. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Responsibility for cleaning and general appearance of school building, including the following:

A. Open the building

B. Sweep and mop floors

C. Collect and remove garbage

D. Clean bathrooms, windows, chalkboards

E. Unload delivery trucks

F. Set-up for hot lunch and cleanup

G. Move furniture or athletic equipment and set-up

bleachers or risers

H. Maintain the security of the building

I. Snow removal during winter

J. Stripe playing fields

K. Care for lawn and scrubs

L. Strip, wax and buff floors during summer

2. Responsibility for completing minor maintenance repairs and performing miscellaneous job orders. The following maintenance tasks are not meant to be all-inclusive but are illustrative in nature of tasks to be performed. (0-33% of shift)

A. Boiler care

B. Carpentry

C. Electrical

D. General preventative maintenance

E. Painting

F. Plumbing

3. Responsibility to perform all other duties necessary to the position by the Buildings and Grounds Operations Manager.

4. Other duties as assigned
