We're looking for a Dishwasher who takes ownership of the dish pit and understands just how important their role is to the whole kitchen. You'll keep every pot, pan, plate, and utensil clean, sanitized, and back in rotation - so the cooks always have what they need and guests always get a great meal. If you take pride in doing the work that makes everything else possible, this is your role.

THE ROLE

The Dishwasher is responsible for washing and sanitizing all cookware, dishes, silverware, utensils, and service items - and for keeping the dish pit clean, organized, and fully compliant with health and safety regulations. This role is essential to kitchen operations, and it requires consistency, attention to detail, and the physical stamina to keep up with a high-volume kitchen throughout every shift.

This role requires a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays, with availability to work during peak periods, special events, and high-volume seasons.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Run the Dish Pit

  • Wash all wares - pots, pans, flatware, glasses, and service items - by hand or using dishwashers, to the highest standard of cleanliness and sanitation
  • Return clean equipment, dishes, and utensils to their correct, designated storage areas promptly
  • Stock serving stations, refrigerators, and cupboards with dishes and utensils so the kitchen always has what it needs
  • Move dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to the work area safely and efficiently

Keep the Kitchen Clean and Safe

  • Maintain the dish pit at the highest level of cleanliness, safety, and sanitation throughout every shift
  • Clean trash receptacles and manage waste removal to keep the kitchen and back-of-house areas orderly
  • Ensure work areas remain safe, clean, and compliant with all company, local, and state health and safety guidelines
  • Assist with light food prep as directed by the Chef team when needed

Be a Dependable Kitchen Team Member

  • Work as a reliable, fast-moving team member in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Operate under the direction of the Chef team and respond quickly to shifting priorities during service
  • Communicate any equipment issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to the Chef team promptly

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in a kitchen, food service, or high-volume operations environment preferred
  • Ability to work under the direction of the Chef team and follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older as required by state or local law

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Let's be real - this isn't your typical desk job! Here's what you'll need to do to thrive in this role:

  • Ability to remain on your feet and in motion for extended periods throughout the shift, including standing and working continuously at the dish pit station; this role requires sustained physical stamina and consistent pace in a high-volume kitchen environment throughout the duration of each shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds independently and up to 75 pounds with assistance, including dish racks, pots, pans, supply bins, and equipment to and from storage and the work area
  • Ability to navigate stairs, ramps, and multi-level areas of the venue when transporting dishes, supplies, or equipment between kitchen areas
  • Ability to work in varying temperature environments on a frequent basis, including hot dishwashing areas, steam exposure, hot kitchen conditions, and walk-in coolers
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions including scrubbing, lifting, stacking, and handling wet or heavy wares throughout the shift; exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, and steam is a regular part of this role
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a high-energy kitchen environment that may include moderate to high levels of background noise
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment while maintaining focus, sanitation standards, and turnaround speed under pressure
