Overview
We
are
seeking
an
elementary
certified
special
educator
who
will
be
responsible
for
gathering
and
analyzing
student
performance
data
to
write
Individual
Education
Plans
[IEPs]
for
students
in
grades
TK
In
addition,
this
candidate
will
attend
and
facilitate
the
IEP
meetings,
building
collaboration
within
the
IEP
team
of
educators,
ancillary
staff
and
parents.
Qualifications
and
Skills
Valid
Michigan
Elementary
Teacher
Certification
with
one
Special
Education
Endorsement
from
the
following
options:
Cognitive
Impairment
(SA)
Impairment
(SE)
or
Learning
Disabilities
(SM)
Orton
Gillingham
training
preferred
Previous
teaching
experience,
preferably
at
the
elementary
school
level
Strong
knowledge
of
IEP
guidelines
and
requirements
Familiarity
with
educational
technology,
MiStar
preferred
Capacity
to
work
with
an
IEP
team
and
build
consensus
through
discussion
Exceptional
written
and
verbal
communication
skills
Capability
to
develop
PLAFFP
statements,
IEP
Goals
and
Objectives,
Supplemental
Aids,
State
Assessment,
and
Programs
within
and
IEP.
Experience
in
data
analysis
and
reporting.
Responsibilities
and
Duties
Collaborate
with
general
education
teachers
and
special
education
staff
to
gather,
analyze,
and
report
out
data
on
IEP
goals
and
objectives,
inclusive
of
completing
quarterly
progress
reports.
Provide
consultation
to
current
staff
on
Specially
Designed
Instruction
and
evidenced
based
instructional
practices
for
students
with
disabilities.
Develop
PLAAFP
statements
to
inform
draft
IEP
Goals
and
Objectives,
Supplemental
Aids,
State
Assessments,
and
Programs.
Enter
all
IEP
data
into
our
MiStar
Program
Forms
Attend
IEP
meetings
as
the
Special
Education
teacher
representative.
NOTE :
Meetings
are
scheduled
and
primarily
occur
on
Tuesdays
and
Thursdays.
