Job Title Part-Time Evening English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor Rank Adjunct Job Description
- Deliver engaging English language instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with College and Career Readiness standards and student learning goals.
- Integrate contextualized instruction, workforce readiness skills, math language, and digital literacy into classroom activities.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and multisensory learning experiences to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
- Support student persistence, retention, and achievement of educational and career goals.
- Maintain accurate student attendance, assessment, and instructional records.
- Participate in required professional development and training activities.
- Ensure compliance with all College, North Carolina Community College System, state, and federal policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- ESL teaching experience, TESOL certification, or the ability to obtain required ESL credentials.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous ESL, adult education, or community college teaching experience.
- Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse populations.
- Proficiency in using instructional technology and digital learning tools.
- Knowledge of College and Career Readiness standards and adult education best practices.
Salary Range Based on Cleveland's current salary structure
