Part-Time Faculty: ARC 500: Professional Elective (Fall 2026)

The School of Architecture seeks a part-time instructor to teach a six-credit course on advanced architectural design. The course will be structured as a studio.

The expected salary range for this position in Los Angeles is $24,000 - $27,000 for this 6-credit hour course. Qualifications

• Strong design and critical thinking skills.
• Candidates must hold a Master of Architecture or a master's degree in a related field and demonstrate a record of recognized architectural design research which may include built work, scholarship, publications or exhibits.

Responsibilities

Those of a part-time faculty member with a teaching load of 6-credits including:

• Developing a syllabus
• Preparation of lectures, projects, or other assignments
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours
• Meeting all designated class periods
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course
• Submitting final grades according to university regulations
• Grading student assignments and exams in a timely manner
• Building a positive rapport with students
