The School of Art within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach ARI 320/420 Intermediate/Advanced Ceramics, a three credit hour course, during the Fall semester, 2026.
ARI 320: Building on skills and understanding of processes acquired in introductory ceramics classes, this Intermediate Ceramics class further develops and expands students' skill seta and knowledge necessary to begin formulating a personal studio practice in clay.
ARI 420: Students will expand upon their abilities to understand and handle clay as a medium for expression and exploration. Working in the kiln/clay/glaze lab, students are challenged to make a stronger connection between material, process, and idea.

Responsibilities
Deliver syllabi; demonstrate and guide safe use of a complex ceramic facility; demonstrate and guide students through a range of intermediate and advanced clay forming techniques; encourage and foster a personal point of view for each individual student to possess in their creative work by the end of class.
