$1,270 per 1 credit with upward adjustment for years of service at Marist University. Pay may vary depending on credits pertaining to online, graduate, music, or lab courses.

Job Summary:

The School of Communication & The Arts invites applications for various Part-Time Faculty positions for the 2026-2027 Academic Year. Opportunities to teach multiple/additional courses may become available. Successful candidates will teach, develop course materials, assist students as needed, and assess student work.

MDIA302 Video Editing (currently scheduled TF 8:00- 9:15AM)

This course seeks to develop both technical skills and aesthetic sensibilities necessary for video editing. Students will become familiar with film and video editing, learning tools, and time-saving techniques of nonlinear editing workflow. Approaches to editing specific types of programs such as interviews, dramatic narratives, and music videos will be explored. Graphics creation and audio enhancement will also be covered.

MDIA402 Advanced Postproduction (currently scheduled TF 9:30am- 10:45AM)

Advanced Postproduction expands upon foundational skills learned in MDIA 302N, exposing students to advanced concepts of rhythm and pacing as well as techniques particular to editing sequences of action, comedy, dialogue, and documentary. Students will learn advanced features of editing such as multi-layer effects and compositing, animation, time effects, and color correction. Using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Avid ProTools will also be explored. 

Minimum Qualifications:

• Masters or Bachelors degree in an appropriate field, and/or Industry/professional experience. 
• Experience with post production workflows, including DaVinci, color correction or Blackmagic Design
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Adobe Creative Suite

Essential Functions:

Opportunities are available to teach in one or more areas across several disciplines over time. Teaching opportunities include undergraduate courses that may be available in both on-ground and online environments. Availability to teach during daytime hours is desired.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Previous College level teaching experience 
• Interoperability between Adobe applications, particularly, Photoshop, After Effects and Audition

About the Department/School:

The Film, Television, and Media Arts program at Marist University prepares students to create visual stories across film, television, and digital platforms through hands-on production and creative development. Students gain experience directing, editing, and producing content in professional production environments. Through collaborative projects and student-driven productions, students create original work and build professional portfolios. The program emphasizes storytelling, technical skill, and creative practice for careers in film, television, and media production.
