St. Mary's University of San Antonio, a private, Catholic and Marianist university invites applications for renewable, adjunct instructor (term) positions in the Department of Biological Sciences beginning August 2026. We are seeking life scientists with teaching expertise at the university level to teach in one or more of the following areas: Anatomy and Physiology I & II lectures and labs for primarily nursing and exercise & sports science majors, General Biology I & II for majors, Microbiology for the Health Professions, Nutrition, Forensic Science and other courses as needed.Qualifications:MS in Biological Sciences or related life science discipline (PhD preferred)Experience teaching undergraduates at the university levelAbility to engage students using best-practice pedagogyResponsibilities:Teach one or two sections (lectures and labs) per semester (term) in biological sciences as assigned by the chairContribute to the University's Marianist educational mission (https://marianistuniversities.org/)About the DepartmentThe Department of Biological Sciences (https://www.stmarytx.edu/academics/department/biology/) currently employs 14 full-time faculty and serves ~230 undergraduate majors. Class sizes in the department are small with an average student-faculty ratio of 17:1. The department is active in research and opportunities for collaborations and professional development are abundant.
