The School of Continuing and Professional Studies (SCPS) at DePaul University is accepting applicants interested in part-time faculty teaching opportunities in a variety of topic areas listed below. SCPS serves students of all ages and backgrounds, including adult and traditional-age students, and provides flexible learning formats and scheduling designed to meet a wide range of student needs. The school focuses on lifelong learning skills, including writing, critical thinking, research and career development throughout its a multi-disciplinary curriculum. SCPS courses are facilitated online, on campus evenings and weekends, and through a variety of hybrid combinations including both synchronous and asynchronous variations.

Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences

Business Administration, Leadership, Nonprofit Management, Recreation and Sport Management

Healthcare Adminstration, Behavioral Sciences, Decision Analytics, Computer Science

Part-time teaching opportunities are available including online, hybrid, and on-campus throughout the academic year. Applicants with expertise that matches course scheduling needs, demonstrated successful teaching experience, and appropriate, verified qualifications will be contacted for an interview. Academic course schedules fluctuate from quarter to quarter and the school will work with selected individuals to determine a quarterly schedule. Courses are not guaranteed; however, the school does its best to give ample notice about available courses and potential course cancellations. Online courses are taught using the Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system.

Considerations:

Exceptions to standard rates may apply to courses with unique credit hours, supervision, labs, clinical/practicum courses, coaching, administrative tasks, and courses that are either over-enrolled or under-enrolled.

The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the qualifications, education, experience, and training of the selected candidate, the scope and responsibilities of the position, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information.

About DePaul University''s Academic Calendar:

Except for the College of Law, DePaul University operates on a quarter system. Classes in Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters are 11 weeks in length (including finals week) and Summer courses, in two sessions, are typically 5 weeks in length. The College of Law operates on the semester system. Classes in the Fall and Spring semesters are 16 weeks in length (including finals week) and it offers a Summer Session of 7 weeks (including final exams).

To teach at the undergraduate level, a Master's degree is required in a related field to the subject area you wish to teach. To teach at the graduate level, a Doctorate or terminal degree is required in a related field. Experience teaching at the college level is desirable, but not required.
