Part-Time Faculty | Undergraduate Architecture Design Studio (Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027)

School of Architecture seeks part-time instructors to teach architecture design studio during the Fall (6 credits) and/or Spring (6 credits) semester(s). Teaching is at the undergraduate level.

Qualifications

A professional degree in Architecture is required, as well as an advanced degree in Architecture or a closely related design field.

Job Specific Qualifications

• The School is particularly interested in candidates with teaching experience in an accredited professional architecture degree program.
• Candidates with strong intellectual and creative direction are encouraged to apply.
• Candidates must possess professional design experience and demonstrate a record of recognized creative work which may include built/unbuilt work, installations or publications.

Responsibilities

Those of a part time faculty member teaching a 6 credit hour design studio, per semester, including:

• Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
• Ordering the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date.
• Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
• Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
• Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
• Meeting all designated class periods.
• Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
• Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
• Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
