Duties and Responsibilities A selected candidate will teach one (1) or two (2) courses in the Department of Professional and Public Writing. Specific responsibilities include: Delivering online lessons and assignments in UX Design principles, tools, and techniques through our course management platform, Brightspace. Providing regular feedback, guidance, and mentoring support to students to facilitate their learning and skill development while conveying confidence in every students ability to learn. Cultivating a collaborative and participatory online learning environment that values diversity of people, ideas, cultures, and forms of expression. Evaluating student performance and progress and providing timely assessment. Fostering a safe environment that respects the diversity of people and ideas by modeling respect for all students and conveying confidence in every students ability to learn. Note: Part-time faculty are not required to engage in research or service activities but must hold regular office hours and be available to assist students enrolled in their courses. They are expected to stay current in their fields of instruction and with pedagogical methods and instructional technologies. Online teaching requires certification and possibly training by the University.Required Qualifications 1. Masters degree in technical communication or a related field, OR a Bachelors degree and three (3) years of professional experience in areas such as: UX research UX analytics UX writing Content design Usability and heuristic evaluation Accessibility Wireframing, prototyping Content optimization and strategy 2. Must have technical knowledge and proficiency in interaction design technologies (e.g., Figma and the Adobe Suite) as well as remote collaboration tools. Preferred Qualifications 1. Teaching experience at the college level. 2. For candidates with Masters degrees, professional experience in the field of UX.
